Start Here. A Human-Centred Approach to Family Life.
Helping families grow healthier together at home through empathy, creativity and problem-solving.
We’re creative studio exploring how design can serve people in meaningful ways. And we’re starting with families.
We believe a better future starts at home. To be healthier humans, we need healthier families. And we can get there by designing our culture at home. If we do not shape it with intention, we leave it to chance or allow it be shaped by external forces that may not have our best interest.
We’re not control freaks. But as designers, we are deeply aware of how our modern environment constantly conditions us. That awareness is why we believe families can benefit from learning to design their own culture with intention.
What we do
We help families turn everyday challenges into opportunities to grow closer and practise important life skills like empathy, creativity and problem solving.
We are in the process of working towards tangible offerings.
How we do it
Our approach is rooted in human centred design, the same method designers use to create new ideas and solve problems, made simple for family life. We are not parenting experts with ready answers. We are designers, guiding families with curiosity, empathy and clarity. Together, we explore a guiding question:
“How might we
nurture connected relationships at home
while building the skills needed
to thrive in our modern world?”
Every family’s answer will be different. That is why our role is not to tell you what to do but to give you the tools and mindset to figure it out in your own way.
We guide families through four steps:
Understand: Observe and empathise to better understand ourselves and each other.
Define: Get clear about shared challenges and goals. Then decide what’s important.
Create: Come up with lots of ideas and possibilities before deciding what to try.
Test & Improve: Experiment with solutions that fit your family, learning and adjusting along the way.
Through this journey, families build confidence, strengthen relationships and learn how to figure things out together.
Why this Substack exists
This is the space that holds the messy parts of our journey. It is our working ground where we share thoughts, reflections, experiments, ideas and lessons as we create tools and solutions for families.
It is also where families can test, question and share back. The more people who take part, the more useful and meaningful this work becomes.

We need your help
We are small and there’s so much we don’t know yet. When more families help us test, we learn and improve. Share your challenges, try out the tools & methods, and share with us what works and what doesn’t. Your stories, advice and support helps us improve our work. Skeptics are also welcome ;)
